Description

A delicious and easy dessert combining cherry pie filling, crushed pineapple, and a buttery cake layer.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 box (15 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, sliced or melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Add crushed pineapple with its juice on top of the cherries and gently spread without mixing.
  4. Sprinkle dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
  5. Place thin slices of butter (or drizzle melted butter) over the entire surface of the cake mix.
  6. If using chopped pecans, sprinkle them evenly across the top.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden and edges are bubbly.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving warm.
