Description
A delicious and easy recipe for overnight oats that can be customized with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
- ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese (softened)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Additional Greek yogurt or cream cheese swirl
- Crushed nuts or granola
- Raisins or chopped dates
Instructions
- Mix the Base: In a medium jar or bowl, stir together the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, cream cheese, brown sugar (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until fully combined.
- Taste and Adjust: Give it a quick taste. Want more cinnamon? Add a pinch. Prefer it sweeter? Drizzle in a little more maple syrup.
- Seal and Refrigerate: Cover your jar or bowl and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours. The oats will soak up the liquid and soften into a thick, pudding-like texture.
- Serve: In the morning, give the oats a stir. You can enjoy them cold straight from the fridge or warm them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds. Top with extra Greek yogurt for a “frosting” effect, or sprinkle on some crushed nuts for crunch.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the toppings according to your taste preferences.
- You can use different types of milk, including almond, soy, or regular dairy milk.
