Description

This delicious cherry layered dessert features fluffy angel food cake, creamy pudding, and sweet cherry pie filling.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups angel food cake, cubed
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (3 oz) vanilla pudding mix, instant
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the angel food cake into small cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Let it set for a few minutes to thicken.
  3. In a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes evenly across the bottom.
  4. Spoon over half of the cherry pie filling.
  5. Pour half of the pudding mixture on top and spread it evenly.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cherry pie filling, and pudding mix.
  7. Spread the Cool Whip evenly across the top as the final layer.
  8. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top if using.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor and texture.
  10. Serve chilled and enjoy!
