Description

Delicious vegan chocolate cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy vegan frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 packet (4 g) activated yeast
  • 1/4 cup (45 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup (135 mL) dairy-free milk
  • 1/4 cup (57 g) salted vegan butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 cup (43 g) dairy-free yogurt
  • 1/4 cup (67 g) vegan butter
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup vegan chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder (for rolling)
  • 1/2 batch vegan cream cheese
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 g) vegan chocolate
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add dairy-free milk, yogurt, melted vegan butter, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Allow the dough to rise in a warm area until doubled in size (20-30 minutes).
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing vegan butter, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.
  6. Roll out the dough, spread the filling evenly, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and roll tightly.
  7. Let the rolls rise again before baking for about 30 minutes or until golden.
  8. Frost with a mixture of vegan cream cheese and melted chocolate before serving.
