Description

A delicious tuna melt sandwich with creamy filling and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (5 oz) high-quality tuna packed in olive oil
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tbsp spicy mustard
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread
  • 2 tbsp butter for toasting
  • Optional: Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the canned tuna, mayonnaise, spicy mustard, Sriracha sauce, and optional herbs. Mix until creamy.
  2. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of bread and place them butter-side down in the skillet until golden brown.
  3. Flip the toasted bread and spread a generous layer of the tuna filling on one slice. Top with shredded cheese and cover with another slice of bread.
  4. Grill the sandwich on medium heat until the cheese melts, flipping once—about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve hot by slicing diagonally and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spiciness of the Sriracha sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley for added freshness.
